Some came, they saw and conquered. Others came, looted and went back. With them went away most of the wealth, and in a way the pride of our land. India has had a long history of tolerance, something which she still maintains. During the course of her 5000 years of history many invaders came to conquer her but became a part of her instead. Then there were those who were able to take advantage of this tolerance and took back a lot that did not belong to them. Unarguably, most of India was sucked dry of its wealth by the outsiders, and bled white until poverty and famine had enveloped what remained of her. Now that it's been 61 years since Independence, I wonder why the government isn't asking back for the "cultural property" of this land? There is a piece of India's legacy and pride still under the control of foreigners. Will we ever get it back?

well, just went through all your posts but couldn't find much to comment upon except that they are all well written and well placed... however this one calls for it.....
Ages after THE INDEPENDENCE, india still seems to be in shackles...talk about cultural imperialism... today people of our country are ashamed to talk in their own language...ppl who talk in hindi are looked down upon...they follow western fashion despite the fact that sometimes it goes against the Indian extreme climate...someone wearing Indian outfit is not considered fit enough to sit in the niche society...unabashed they follow western culture without realizing the beauty of the exotic indian culture....talk about any sphere...and now coming up of MNCs have further exposed the Indians with its ill effects...
I guess people already are disgusted by call centre culture where Indian youths are exploited for some pennies
The problem is not the love for adopting western culture, the problem is that Indians are so outrageously ashamed of their own culture that they lose their judgment power and absorb in the bad part of the western culture too...they are too smitten by it that their own rich culture seems valueless to them
I thing its high time that Indians start respecting and accepting themselves and their culture the way it is...If they cant respect themselves they should not expect other countries to be doing so....after all the way they are treated by others is reflection of the way they treat themselves...
there is a folk lore in which a jackal color itself blue and try to act unlike itself and get killed in the end....
I guess ppl are smart enuf to understand the moral.
